Rahmat Sadeli Soebagia Soemadipradja has been practising law for over 30 years and is a recognised leader in the Indonesian energy & natural resources sector, particularly in mining. After his initial four years of practice with a prominent Indonesian law firm, Rahmat joined the leading Australian law firm Freehills, on secondment, at its Sydney office, after establishing Soemadipradja & Taher law firm, along with Hafzan Taher.
He has been appointed as an arbitrator in several Indonesian business dispute cases and has served as an expert in Indonesian mining law, administration law, and finance law in several international arbitration proceedings and court cases outside Indonesia.
Rahmat’s main areas of practice cover energy and natural resources, particularly mining, environmental law, forestry, general corporate and foreign investment into Indonesia, including regulatory and compliance, capital markets and project finance. Rahmat’s experience has been beneficial in advising multinational corporations in handling strategic issues.
